Restoring Healthcare Access, Dignity & Hope for the Elderly

As our society progresses, one silent crisis continues to grow—the struggle of elderly citizens to access basic healthcare. Many senior citizens live alone, suffer from chronic illnesses, or lack physical and emotional support to reach hospitals, OPDs, and diagnostic centers. Missed appointments, delayed investigations, and unattended health needs often push them into medical emergencies that could have been prevented.

Aadhar – A Hand for Help is a heartfelt initiative by Aas Health Foundation created to become a reliable support system for our elders—just as they once were for us.

Why “Aadhar – A Hand for Help” Is Needed

While ambulance facilities are widely available for emergency care and hospitalization, a major and often ignored gap exists in the healthcare system—support for elderly patients to attend routine OPDs and diagnostic investigations.

For most senior citizens, the real struggle is not emergencies, but regular follow-ups, consultations, and investigations. These are essential for managing chronic diseases, preventing complications, and maintaining quality of life. Unfortunately, no structured system exists to help elderly individuals—especially those living alone—reach OPDs safely, affordably, and with emotional support.

Recognizing this unmet need, Dr. Kamlesh Kakde envisioned “Aadhar – A Hand for Help”—a unique, preventive, and dignity-centered initiative that goes beyond emergency response. This program focuses on timely, assisted access to routine healthcare, which is the foundation of healthy ageing.

What makes Aadhar truly unique is that it:

• Addresses a critical gap not covered by conventional ambulance services
• Focuses on prevention, continuity of care, and compliance, not just crisis management
• Combines transport, human companionship, and care coordination
• Restores confidence and independence to elderly individuals afraid to navigate healthcare alone

By supporting OPD visits today, Aadhar helps prevent emergencies tomorrow—making it a much-needed, forward-thinking, and socially impactful healthcare solution for the elderly.

What We Do

Under Aadhar – A Hand for Help, elderly men (65+ years) and women (60+ years) can request assistance to visit:

• Hospital OPDs
• Clinics
• Diagnostic & investigation centers

Our services include:

• Home pick-up and drop through a non-emergency ambulance
• Trained volunteer accompaniment throughout the hospital visit
• Assistance with registrations, appointments, and investigations
• Safe return home with care and dignity

This initiative is especially beneficial for elderly individuals living alone, elderly couples without nearby family support, and seniors with chronic health conditions.

More Than Transport – A Lifeline

Aadhar is not just an ambulance service. It is a human connection, a reassuring presence, and a promise that someone cares.

By ensuring regular OPD visits and timely investigations, the initiative:

• Improves treatment compliance
• Prevents disease complications
• Reduces avoidable emergency hospitalizations
• Enhances confidence, independence, and emotional well-being of the elderly

Impact We Aim to Create

• Improved access to healthcare for senior citizens
• Reduced emergency admissions through early medical attention
• Improved quality of life, dignity, and independence for the elderly
• Relief and reassurance for families living away from their parents

How You Can Help
